Abstract

Objective To investigate the effects of combined glaucoma trabeculectomy on corneal curvature and optic axial length. Methods Fifty-six patients with glaucoma compound trabeculectomy 1 week, 3 months after surgery for corneal curvature and axial length measured and be compared with the preoperative. Results One week after trabeculectomy compared with preoperative, horizontal corneal curvature remained unchanged (P>0.05), vertical corneal curvature increased significantly (P<0.05), axial length was significantly shorter (P<0.05). After 3 months compared with baseline, no significant difference in corneal curvature (P<0.05), but axial length still significantly shorter (P<0.05). Conclusions Composite certain period after trabeculectomy may cause corneal curvature and axial length change significantly. Key words: Trabeculectomy; Corneal curvature; Optic axial length
