Abstract

Palynological studies of oil- and gas-bearing Cretaceous deposits in the eastern part of the West Siberian Plain have provided the basis for establishing spore and pollen 'assemblages' ranging in age from Valanginian to Cenomanian. These have been compared to those of adjacent and distant regions. The main changes in composition of the assemblages are manifested by both the appearance of new taxa and quantitative differences of individual components. The most significant changes were recorded at the Barremian/Aptian boundary and at the end of the Early Cretaceous.
