Abstract

Background: Recent reports suggest that higher rate, atrial pacing during sleep decreases apneic spells in patients with sleep apnea. To investigate the mechanism responsible for this finding, we studied the effects of higher rate atrial pacing (AP) on apneic spells and cardiac function in patients with obstructive sleep apnea.
