Abstract

Having been allotted the subject “Changes in Banking Supervision and their Consequences for Banks” it seems appropriate to ask oneself first what have been the outstanding characteristics of the changes which have taken place in the world of banking — and consequently in banking supervision — in the 1970s. On the basis of these changes we can try to identify the challenges of the eighties, which form the subject of this colloquium.
