Abstract

This paper determines the density of beta-adrenoreceptors of intact lymphocytes from patients with stable essential hypertension and compares it with that of normal subjects. Specific binding of tritium-dihydroalprenolol with intact lymphoctes under certain described conditions was characterized by saturation and high affinity. The results are evidence of a statistically significant increase (by 42%) in beta-adrenoreceptor density of intact lymphocytes in essential hypertension.
