Abstract

Neurology has multiple missions. Its major goal is to report the best clinical neuroscience. Most academic and practicing neurologists have a subspecialty interest, even if they consider themselves to be general neurologists. We therefore wish to publish papers from each subspecialty area in Neurology. Journal scope and size. Neurology is the official voice of the Academy and anticipates publishing increasing numbers of the position papers that are helping to shape and support the practice of neurology. We also want Neurology to serve as a forum for the airing of opinion and controversy. We encourage such commentary through letters about published papers. The multiple goals of Neurology require an enlarged journal. The number of submissions to Neurology continues to rise. We anticipate receiving nearly 2400 papers in 1997, an increase of almost 20%.
