Abstract

It is well known that in the presence of a small amount of acrylonitrile (AN) (0.5 to 2% on the weight of the viscose) the ripeness index rapidly increases and the viscosity of the viscose decreases [i]o Reacting with the sulfur-containing by-products in the viscose, the AN helps in separating free CS2 and NaOH from them, being converted itself into slowly hydrolyzing organic sulfides by the scheme
