Change in parameters of unit cells of hydrosodalite and some ion-exchange forms of type X zeolite as the result of water vapor adsorption

Abstract

1. An x-ray structure study was made of the changes in the parameters of the unit cells of hydrosodalite samples that contain a variable amount of sodium ions, and also of type X zeolites in the Na+, Ca, and La3+ ion-exchange forms, at various water adsorption values. 2. The changes in the parameters of the unit cells dehydrated samples of the type X zeolites as they are filled by water in the region of small adsorption values are similar to the corresponding changes in the parameters of the unit cells of hydrosodalite, whose cavities are identical with the small cavities of the type X zeolite.
