Abstract

The crystallinity of a heat sealed region of corona treated poly propylene film was determined by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The profile of thermograms of a film's sealed region diners from that of an unsealed region. The percent crystallinity of the heat sealed polypropylene increased after heat sealing. Crystallinity increased with a rise in sealing temperature. However, the heat sealing dwell time and pressure had little effect on the in crease in crystallinity.
