Abstract

The effect of prior heat treatment and equal channel angular extrusion (ECAE) in a stepped die on the microstructure and properties of copper M1 is studied. Grain size, microhardness, strength and ductility properties are determined for copper after ECAE. Combined thermomechanical treatment is proposed facilitating an improvement in a set of copper properties.
