Abstract

The Emergency care improvement and innovation clinical network is one of five clinical networks developed as part of the Health reform program endorsed by the Victorian Government in 2007. The key aim of the emergency care network is to improve patient care by promoting innovation and improvement in the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of emergency department care. A guiding principle of the network is to engage with clinicians in working across organisational boundaries to increase the use of evidence-based care and enhance a patient–centred approach to service improvement.
