Abstract

The difference in speech of a dialect is a phenomenon that often occurs in Malaysia even throughout the world. The changes and differences in speech sounds are caused by several factors whether the language of the language itself, as well as geographical or area factors. In addition, the phenomenon of changing the dialect is in fact in line with the community's lifestyle as well as the current economic demands. The importance of retention or preservation of a dialect is the emblem of a society that should be inherited. Hence, this study is conducted to examine some of the changing factors of vocabulary in Malay society. Differences in the dialect of a society are based on the geographical position or pattern of the community life. The objective of the study was to discuss the aspects of dialectic change that occurred in the Malay community.
