Abstract

The article discusses the topic of challenging behaviours (also called difficult behaviours) which are not caused by situations, but they are simply symptoms of mental development disorders typical of severe and profound intellectual disability and autism spectrum. The first part explains terms which are important to understand the topic and includes description of two levels of intellectual disability and autism spectrum. Other parts present descriptions of challenging behaviours and study models: behaviourism and non averseness and educational attitude towards challenging behaviuors.
