Abstract

Projectile excitation of rare isotopes provided as low-intensity beams has been used to measure g factors of low-lying states with life times in the picoseconds range. The experiments are perturbed angular correlation measurements utilizing the strong hyperfine fields in partially stripped projectile ions. So far, only a small number of published experiments have yielded modest results.
