Abstract
Polymerization in dispersed media is commercially employed to fabricate a wide range of specialty polymers. Thus, a deep understanding of the process is instrumental in improving the performance of these materials in current applications and in the development of new applications. This article gives a personal view of the fundamental knowledge available, pointing out aspects that are open to discussion, need improvement, or simply missing.
