Abstract

Objective: To identify and select the main challenges in adopting agile methodologies in the software engineering processes management, that is, to analyze the most recurring challenges involving the application of agile methodologies in organizational environments. Theoretical Framework: Software Development is marked by a dynamic environment in constant change, where organizations must experiment with new values, manifested in flexibility, adaptation, intelligence, innovation and proactivity, using innovative tools, as conditions to become efficient and competitive. Method: The research was conducted based on bibliographical review, whose strategy was the analysis of a group of authors who constituted the theoretical framework to substantiate and explain the categories of this study, centered on agile methodologies. Results and Discussion: The results revealed that organizations encounter obstacles of different natures to implement agile methodologies in their environment, making project development difficult, thus not having the changes considered with good receptivity among employees, given the ingrained values and culture, becoming challenges for the organization. Implications of the Research: Given this evidence, it is concluded that organizational culture has as its primary factor resistance to change, as being the organization's main challenge for the acceptance and implementation of agile methodologies, indicating that there is no compatibility between organizational culture and agile methodologies. Originality/Value: This study contributes to identifying factors that become challenges to the successful implementation of agile methodologies in organizations, such as changes in organizational culture.
