Abstract
We discuss deficiencies in the statistical Hauser-Feshbach theory implemented into the available computer codes, and possible extension of reaction calculations in the next decade, which are particularly important to nuclear data studies. The discussions include a nuclear deformation effect in the width fluctuation calculation, and combining nuclear structure models with the Hauser-Feshbach calculations. Some examples are given to calculate the direct process and the pre-equilibrium process.
