Abstract
This paper presents a review of recently proposed policy changes for the dissemination of government information and a critical look at the arguments being made for and against an immediate migration to electronic-only dissemination and preservation of government publications. Issues of authenticity, security, permanence of records, access, format, and cost are examined.
