Abstract

1. The telomerization of ethylene by methyl acetate is accompanied by two rearrangements of the radicals with 1,5-migration of hydrogen on the radicals ĊH2CH2CH2CH2CH2CO2CH3 and ĊH2CH2CH2CH2CH · (C4H9)CO2CH3. The chain transfer constants (Cn) for unrearranged and rearranged series of telomers were measured. 2. The constants Cn in the telomerization of ethylene by methyl bromoacetate increase monotontcally as n increases up to four.
