Abstract

Abstract Organoboron and organosilicon compounds are powerful building blocks in organic synthesis and are widely employed in Suzuki–Miyaura and Hiyama cross‐coupling reactions. Various methods for the construction of CB and CSi bonds have been developed. This article focuses on CH bond borylation and silylation of (hetero)arenes, alkenes, and alkanes via iron catalysis. Additives, irradiation, active iron complexes, or bimetallic Cu–Fe complexes are always required in these transformations. In addition, the efficiency of C(sp 3 )H bond borylation and CH bond silylation is still inferior, and mechanistic studies remain to be developed.
