Abstract

This chapter covered recent advancements in nonreactive C(sp3)–H bond functionalization using photo-excited aryl ketones. The C–H bond cleaving ability of photo-excited ketones plays an important role in these reactions. Transformations targeting nonreactive C–H bonds can dramatically simplify synthetic sequences and improve synthetic efficiency as described in this chapter.
