Abstract

Thermal contact resistance is one of the important parameters for accurate temperature prediction in CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis. However, thermal contact resistance is dependent on surface condition of materials, and estimation of thermal contact resistance is difficult. In this study, CFD analysis with various size of small air gap on the contact surface of the material was conducted, and important factors of the surface structure for considering thermal contact resistance were discussed. As a result, contract heat flow is important factor for thermal contact resistance, and the relationship between contract heat flow and small air gap structure on the surface of the material is a key to accurate estimation of thermal contact resistance.
