Abstract
A detection scheme for a range-spread target in white Gaussian noise is developed. The detector is based on waveform entropy of the arithmetic average of multiple successive high-resolution range profiles, and has the precious property of a constant false-alarm rate (CFAR). The proposed detector is compared with the conventional detectors based on measured data, and good performance is reported.
