Abstract

A 23-year-old man presents with a 4-year history of chronic neck pain, which the patient initially attributed to playing football throughout high school and college. Over the past 6 months, the patient started experiencing left leg sciatica and left hamstring tightness and developed band-like abdominal paresthesia over the past 4 months. More recently, he noticed erectile dysfunction and mild urinary retention. Physical examination showed hypesthesia in both flanks and anterior thighs. The examination was otherwise unremarkable with normal motor strength in all four extremities.
