Abstract
Malignant mesothelioma with distant metastasis is an uncommon occurrence. In the present article we report a case of a 45-year-old male that came to our attention for the incidental finding of a single enlarged cervical lymph node. Fine needle aspiration (FNAC) was diagnostic of malignant mesothelioma. Immunocytochemically, the neoplasm showed reactivity for Calretinin. The primary malignant pleural mesothelioma was detected five months later. Though rare, awareness of such a possibility and careful cytological examination under the appropriate clinical conditions is warranted.
