Abstract

The paper, a local study, is an integral part of the regional symposium on landscape-geochemical prospecting for copper in the Southern Urals. Examination of normal and anomalous concentrations of copper and of other metals, typornorphic of chalcopyritic ores of the test area and of the region, .shows that, in contrast with the greenstone areas, the secondary dispersion halos of the ores are best expressed in the illuvial horizon of gray forest soils and that such halos are found also in ground Waters and in hydromorphic soils. Characteristically, Mo anomalies in gray forest soils may be taken as indications of the sulfide mineralization in the underlying rocks, but Ba anomalies are obscure against the high Ba background of the test area.
