Abstract

This method is based on the oxidation of a known amount of iron(II) ions with oxide superconductors YBaCuO and BiSrCaCuO in a 2–5 mol l −1 solution of hydrobromic acid. The unreacted iron(II) ions were determined by cerimetric titration with ferroin as the indicator. This procedure allows the dissolution of samples even at elevated temperature. The reliability interval is 5%.
