Abstract

Background and Aim: Metronidazole is commonly prescribed drug for amoebiasis and is usually well tolerated, and safe but can cause serious neurological adverse events including peripheral neuropathy which is relatively common but CNS toxicity is rare. We report a case of cerebellar ataxia who had taken metronidazole inadvertently for amoebic liver abscess.
