Abstract

AbstractThe international joint project “Ceramics Superplasticity” has been conducted from 1995 till 1999 by a cooperation between the Japan Science and Technology Corporation (JST) and Max-Planck-lnstitute for Metals Research (MPI-MF). The new type of covalent ceramics was developed through atomic level processing, and novel properties such as superplasticity were investigated. The development of local analysis technique of disordered structure combined the two research fields, grain boundary of crystalline solids and structure of amorphous.
