Abstract

The paper discusses the formulations and properties of ceramic mixes for the manufacture of household glazed earthenware from polymineral clays with the addition of fluxing agents. The casting characteristics of the mixes are examined and the rational amounts and ratios of ingredients are defined. The properties of the mixes are found to depend on the mineral composition of the raw materials, the method of structure formation, and the phase composition.
