Abstract

Following the recommendations of the World Health Organisation for the requisites of centers charged with the attention of subnormal children, this complex has been built with a capacity for 400 children. Among its great diversity of installations, it has sections for diagnosis and therapy, directive and administrative services and social services with units of rooms, work, training, recreation and sport. Among the most notable there may be mentioned: the clear differentiation of functions in independent blocks, with the object of centralizing the uses and reducing the volumes necessary to make them more accessible to the scale of the children; the adaptation to the great unevenness of the terrain, with a scaled disposition making possible better views of the nearby sea, and the structural economy, due to its modulation, which allowed savings in better finished and treatments.
