Centralizer representations of near-fields

Abstract

Let G be a group, S a semigroup of endomorphisms of G, and let G S; G denote the centralizer near-ring of identity-preserving functions on G which commute with the elements of S. In this paper those centralizer near-rings which are near-fields are characterized in terms of properties of S and G and in terms of the action of S on G.
