Abstract

Given a two-channel, discrete linear time-invariant (LTI) plant, this paper investigates whether a 2-rate decentralized controller can achieve identical input–output behaviour as set by a centralized LTI controller designed for an augmented version of the two-channel plant. It is shown that the problem is solvable for stable plants with subsystems of equal sizes and minimum-phase strongly connected channel transfer functions, if the above centralized LTI controller is stable, minimum-phase and satisfies some relative degree condition. A suitable example is considered to illustrate the results.
