Abstract
Internet of Things (IoT) has been merging numerous objects in it continuously and the services provided have been getting added profoundly. With this ever-evolving technology, complexity is also increasing. To deal with this enormous summation of objects, a new paradigm has been proposed which is called SIoT (Social Internet of Things). SIoT is an amalgamation of social networking and IoT. This method has proved to be successful in dealing with the traffic issues of growing needs. SIoT changes the smart nodes to social nodes that interact using various methods as needed according to the services required. Different characteristics of the social networks, such as degree, modularity, density, and centrality have proved to be important attributes for determining the selection of a friend node. This paper studies centrality as a heuristic to choose the connection of a new object and then analyze the network parameters such as average path length, clustering coefficient and average degree. The simulation results for various types of centralities have also been analysed.
