Abstract

AbstractThe dorsal column projections of individual primary afferent fibers from the posterior articular nerve innervating the cat knee have been studied. The majority of fibers not projecting to cervical levels in the dorsal columns supply slowly adapting receptors. These fibers undergo a reduction in conduction velocity shortly after entering the dorsal columns and terminate in the upper lumbar to lower thoracic region of the spinal cord.
