Abstract

Central corneal thickness was measured in 20 patients with retinal detachment and in an age-matched control group. Central corneal thickness was significantly lower in the detachment eye and the contralateral eye. It is hypothetically suggested that the thin central cornea and the retinal detachment are ocular manifestations on a generalized connective tissue defect.
