Abstract

A 43-year-old woman with progressive visual disturbance was referred to our hospital. (A) Her best-corrected visual acuity was 20/400 in the right eye. She had undergone radial keratotomy for myopia 27 years previously, and the corneal scar gradually worsened and extended to the central cornea. (B) Although anterior-segment OCT revealed that the corneal scar reached the deep stroma, (C) fluorescein staining revealed an intact corneal epithelium. (D) Since her corneal endothelium remained intact, she underwent deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty, which recovered her best-corrected visual acuity to 20/50 with a refraction of –8.00D –3.00 × 160 (Magnified version of Fig A-D is available online at www.aaojournal.org).
