Abstract

Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD) in children is an interesting but controversial area, particularly for teachers and for parents of children who have auditory problems despite normal pure tone audiograms. This paper reviews the issues of the meaning of the term, assessment of the condition, association with other disabilities and remediation of CAPD, with particular regard to the lack of adequate provision in the UK.
