Abstract

We are planning to construct a 3 GeV synchrotron light source in the Republic of Armenia called Center for the Advancement of Natural Discoveries using light emission—CANDLE. The purpose of the machine is to produce high flux and high brightness photon beams from bends and insertion devices in the soft and hard x-ray spectrum range from 1 to 50 keV. The main elements of the light source are an S-band linac, a full energy booster, and a 16-cell double bend achromatic storage ring. We will discuss the main parameters of the machine, the insertion devices, and the preliminary beamlines instrumentation.
