Abstract
Observing that the market for mental health and support services for complex populations is limited and highly fragmented and resulting in suboptimal outcomes for individuals and significant costs to the health care system overall, Centene and Magellan Health Inc. announced Jan. 4 that they have entered into a definitive merger agreement under which Centene will acquire Magellan Health for $2.2 billion.
