Abstract

Microspheres of modified cellulose (DEAE), 40–160 μm in diameter, were laballed with [131I]rose bengal and administered subcutaneously to rabbits. The release of the rose bengal was followed using gamma scintigraphy over a period of 28 days. Significant sustained tissue and blood levels were obtained.
