Abstract
In this paper, the mechanical behavior of hyperelastic foams used in athletic footwear soles is investigated for compression and tensile loadings. Specimens were cut using profiled tools from aged footwear manufactured by five different companies. Based on the experimental results, the modified Ogden hyperelastic strain-energy density function was calibrated and evaluated analytically and numerically, yielding good results.
