Abstract

With the rapid development of space life science research, more functional instruments and equipment are required. Research on cell propagation and analysis is very important in the field of space biology. And cell transfer is a key technique in space station. If the cells can be transferred automatically, it can solve the problem of automatic processing of samples and component analysis of cells in space. This project aims to study the transfer of cells using low-voltage electric field. We made a minitype cell electro-transfer chip to study the moving behaviors of PC-12 cell, SH-SY5Y cell and Jurkat cell endured low electric field. We found that the average transfer speed of cells was closely related with three parameters, the voltage applied the micro channel, the pH of cell suspension and the concentration of cells. The phenomenon of cell transfer in capillary was also observed. It is similar with the situation in the chip. These results would be helpful to design a new tool for automatic transfer cell by low-voltage electric field in space.
