Abstract

In this paper, we theoretically define extended cell complex chains (data models) having inner cells to efficiently describe so-called nonmanifold representation models and their operation processes. An extended model, a 4-tuple of partial chain, base subchain, boundary cycle subchain and newly introduced inner cell set subchain on a base chain, is transformed to a subset of a Euclidean space (shape model) through an extended cell complex. The difference between these extended models and so-called Euler models based on the Euler-Poincare formula is discussed.
