Abstract
It is interesting to examine the beginnings of the Southern Society for Clinical Investigation, to experience the impact that it has had in clinical investigation and in the development of new medical concepts, and new therapeutic approaches that benefit mankind. In a sense, this is a celebration of the Southern Society for Clinical Investigation and I would like to touch on 3 areas. First, the historical beginnings of the Society and how it set about expressing its principles and its culture. Second, the connectedness of clinical science with all aspects of human knowledge.
