Abstract

As you’ve undoubtedly noticed, this issue of Journal of Food Science debuts a new cover design and updated article layout style. In line with IFT's overall new visual identity, we’ve refreshed the look of all three of our Scientific Journals, so go to ift.org and check out the new designs for Journal of Food Science Education and Comprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety in their July issues! The change I am most excited about is the use of images on the cover of JFS. We will change this image every issue, using author images whenever possible from within the issue or from a recently-published issue. Authors are encouraged to notify us of images that they would like to have considered for the cover. If you have a paper that has been accepted for publication and includes a stellar graphic, photograph, or drawing that you would like to see featured, please contact the JFS editorial office at jfs@ift.org. If you haven’t been over to the new IFT website, you should also spend some time browsing the new features we launched at the end of May. On the public site, in addition to a completely new look and much more dynamic organization of content, we now have featured journal articles from the most recent issues. For members, we have a wonderful community site where you can get involved in group discussions and network with colleagues across IFT. One final change we’ll soon see is the launch of Wiley Online Library, where all of IFT's journal content will be hosted. This new service is built on the latest technology and designed with extensive input from the global scholarly community across the world and across the many subjects in which Wiley publishes. Featuring a clean and simple interface, this new online service will combine intuitive navigation, enhanced discoverability, expanded functionalities and a range of personalization options. We hope that you enjoy these exciting changes and find them to be useful improvements that help you in your food science research and education. As always, we appreciate feedback from our readers and authors!
