Abstract
This year marks the 70th anniversary of student chapters within the Society of Exploration Geophysicists. The Student Chapter program was created as a way to reach out to students and provide encouragement during their studies. In 1948, the first student chapter was formed at the Colorado School of Mines. Today, there are more than 380 student chapters in 70 countries.
