Abstract
Background: Laparoscopic ablation therapies are a safe and effective technique for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinomas not suitable for resection. The usage of contrast enhanced intra operative ultrasound (CEIOUS) can improve the complete ablation rate of tumors, identifying new satellite nodules. The role of indiocyanine green (ICG) in this setting is still under study. The combination of CEIOUS and ICG could enhance the possibility of defining better the HCC limits and discovering new satellites, in order to expand the treatment and the outcome.
