Abstract

A reflection on gender blindness in research and in the academy is proposed from the paper “Gender in the analysis of intimate partner violence against women: From gender ‘blindness’ to gender-specific research”. A t work of the whole society through alliances is suggested to modify and transcend inter-sectionally the gender blindness. It is necessary to transcend gender confrontation from the feminist movement, requiring deconstruction and redefinition of gender norms, including the redefinition of the subject of feminism. It is necessary to expand the fight against gender violence beyond violence against women by intimate partners, which, despite being one of the most significant sources of feminicide, does not exhaust violence or discrimination against women or girls on the mere fact they are women.
