Abstract

Ceftaroline fosamil is a new fifth generation cephalosporin with broad-spectrum bacteriocidal activity. It is currently approved for acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections (ABSSSI) and community-acquired bacterial pneumonia (CABP). We report a case of agranulocytosis as a side effect of ceftaroline use, of which the internist needs to be aware. J Med Cases. 2016;7(6):197-201 doi: http://dx.doi.org/10.14740/jmc2489w
